Fall 2017

My first twisty ornament. First make a rose, then dip it in glass, wrap it in a white glass ribbon and then cover with a final clear coat. I spent forever sanding this bowl. I spent forever sanding this bowl. I spent forever sanding this bowl. Stained with Minwax Red Oak and finished with polyurethane. It folded in on itself but I was just able to save it. I like it because it's lucky.
An enjoyable semester of making stuff.

During the fall semester of 2017, I was lucky enough to have the amazing experience of beginning glassblowing instruction at the MIT Glass Lab. I didn’t always keep my pieces on center, but they were a lot of fun to make. I also had some time to turn a bowl out of spalted maple and stain an IKEA Tarva dresser at the MIT Hobby Shop.
